Thomas Magnete at Aachen Colloquium October 10-12, 2011

Despite having become something of a tradition, the Aachen Colloquium proved to be a very special event for Thomas Magnete this year. This was the 20th anniversary of Europe's largest congress for automotive and engine technology and, what is more, Thomas Magnete unveiled a new, fully redesigned exhibition stand. Attracting more visitors than in the past, the Colloquium provided the perfect platform for Thomas Magnete to present its portfolio to audience that was impressed by the company's high-end automotive solutions.

With an extensive range of keynote speeches and special presentations, the focus was on future trends within the automotive market, particularly given the emergence of new drive technology such as electric motors and hybrid engines. Within this context, the guest speakers discussed not only the use of new renewable energy but also strategies to reduce the consumption of conventional natural resources. It became apparent that the trend among major OEMs was towards engine downsizing, the emphasis being on four-cylinder engines with a twin turbocharger or a turbocharger and compressor as well as intelligent valve management. Other topics discussed at the Aachen Colloquium included oil temperature and water temperature management in conjunction with multiple injection technology.

In summary, the 20th Aachen Colloquium was centered around one core issue: raising performance levels while lowering consumption. The exchange between Thomas Magnete and its customers and business partners has provided fresh impetus for future projects.
