Releases

An electromagnetic ratchet system for release comprises three parts:

  • A standard electromagnetic part
  • A kinematic part (ratchet system)
  • And a customized mechanical part.

The electromagnetic part comprises the smallest possible number of simple standard components. This enables a low system weight and minimizes the mass moved during switching.

The on-off solenoid is supplied with energy by the customer system. This is sufficient for the solenoid to switch against a locking force in the customer system through the kinematic part within just a few milliseconds.

The kinematic part generally comprises two, three or more ratchets, which assume different functions.

In a system with three ratchets, the first ratchet statically holds the locking force of the customer system. The second ratchet has the task of blocking the release system against automatic release.  The third ratchet serves “only” as an extended operating lever for the solenoid armature bar.

Attachment of the release system is designed space and load case specifically. The electrical connection of the release system via the connector and the sealing of the system are tailored precisely to the customer's requirements.

Alternatively to a ratchet system, on-off solenoids (pull or push) can block and release a function in the customer system. The forces of the customer system exert a load on the armature bar, which generally emerges from the solenoid with transverse force. Appropriate mounting of the armature can absorb these forces.

Finally, it is also possible for a locking device to be moved within the system with the aid of an on-off solenoid, thereby causing release.
