“A great acknowledgement for all those involved”

| News: General

Germany’s Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife Elke Büdenbender visited Thomas at the end of March 2018. They were joined by state premier of Rhineland-Palatinate Malu Dreyer and her husband Klaus Jensen. “Your visit is a tremendous honor and a great pleasure for us,” said Dietrich Thomas, Managing Partner, on welcoming the guests.

The VIPs were particularly impressed with the company's apprentices. On behalf of all 48 young vocational trainees currently completing apprenticeships at Thomas, Luca Grünschlag and Hannah Porr presented a gift of hand-crafted pen holders and paperweights. A tour of the TPS (Thomas Production Standard) manufacturing line confirmed the future-looking approach taken by the family-run company. “This illustrates our commitment to Industry 4.0. It is our response to growing demands within the area of digitalization and operational efficiency,” said Mike Kühn. CEO Markus Krauss presented the company’s broad range of components used in the automotive industry, in the area of mobile hydraulics and in development for medical technique. Member of the Managing Board Christoph Thomas showed the VIPs the production line for Thomas's map-based control valve, which is accommodated in a state-of-the-art building.

“Both the Federal President and the state premier were visibly impressed by our technological capabilities and our investment in the development of young talent. They had never seen anything quite like it,” said an elated Markus Krauss after the event. He went on to say that a VIP visit of this scale provided additional motivation for the company's 750 employees and was considered a great acknowledgement for all those involved.
